You've logged in to your free org. Now what? Let's take a tour, so every screen in this course feels familiar. We'll follow Jason, Peakline's sales rep, as he looks up a customer.

Apps and tabs

Along the top is the navigation bar.

  • On the left is the app name, like Sales. An app is a set of tabs for one job.
  • Each tab opens one kind of data, like Accounts, Contacts or Opportunities.
  • To switch apps, click the App Launcher, the grid of dots.

Records and list views

Jason clicks the Accounts tab. He sees a list view: a list of records that match a filter, like My Accounts or All Accounts.

Each row is a record: one account, like Hilltop Gym. He clicks it, and the record page opens with its details and everything related to it.

Search and Setup

  • At the top of every page is the search box. Type Hilltop, and you'll find it from anywhere.
  • The gear icon opens Setup. That's where admins like Jay change how Salesforce works for everyone. We'll spend a lot of time there.
