Time to stop watching and start doing. In this lesson, you get your own Salesforce org for free, and a Trailhead account to learn and earn badges.
What you're getting
An org is your own copy of Salesforce, with its own data and settings. Salesforce offers a Developer Edition for free. It's a real Salesforce org you can practice in, and it doesn't run out after 30 days like a trial. Every hands-on step in this course happens in one.
Sign up for your org
- Go to developer.salesforce.com/signup.
- Fill in your details. Use an email address you can check.
- Pick a username. It looks like an email address, but it doesn't have to be a real inbox. It just has to be unique.
- Accept the agreement and submit.
- In a moment, you get an email with a link. Click it and set your password.
Tip from Jay, Peakline's new admin: write your username somewhere safe. It's the one thing people forget, and you need it every time you log in.
Your Trailhead account
Trailhead is Salesforce's free learning site. Go to trailhead.salesforce.com and sign up. Your profile shows every badge you earn, and throughout this course you'll get Trailhead homework to practice what you learn.
